Choosing The Perfect Sofa Bed for You & Your Guests

Lounge first: You'll sit on it hundreds of nights for every one someone sleeps on it. Judge the seat comfort, fabric and looks as strictly as you would any lounge — the bed function is the bonus, not the point.

The conversion: Our designs are built for straightforward conversion — see each product page for its mechanism, and try it in a showroom. A good sofa bed converts without a struggle.

Where it earns its keep: The home office that doubles as a guest room, apartments without a spare room, teenage retreats, and holiday homes where sleeping capacity matters.

Clearance check: Measure the room with the bed extended, not just the sofa footprint — you need walking space around it on fold-out nights.

Setting Honest Expectations

A sofa bed is engineered for occasional sleeping — guests for a weekend, family over the holidays. For a bed slept in every night, a dedicated bed frame and mattress will always be the better tool. What a good sofa bed promises is that both jobs are done properly: a lounge that doesn't feel like a compromise, and a bed your guests won't complain about.
